The January 2012 Community Meeting identified the following community needs (in addition to health care) to guide the Foundation’s programing initiatives:
Electricity
We are exploring options for with local entrepreneurs to bring a solar power to the clinic as well as a solar charging station to provide battery charging for homes in the are.
Small Business/Job Creation
We hope to establish micro-credit financing and small business development assistance for the community.
Food Security/Hunger
We are developing programs in container gardening and aquaculture to help residents become more self sufficient at meeting their food needs.
Road Construction
There is a tremendous need for road development and improvement in the area including the access road to the clinic and we hope to be able to help with this in the future.
