Hurricane Mathew has left a path of devastation in Haiti with hundreds dead and tens of thousands homeless with massive destruction in the areas of Les Cayes and Jérémie.  Many people have asked us about our community.  While there was heavy rain and wind and flooding, the Petite Rivière section of Logane where our clinic is located was not hit too badly.  While there will no doubt be some needs within our community, the major needs in Haiti at the moment are further west.  Our thoughts and prayers are with those who bore the brunt of the hurricane, the families who lost loved ones and those struggling to deal with the aftermath.  Our thanks go out to all those who are helping in the area and those who have donated to support those efforts.  The Rasin Foundation is not a disaster relief organization and we do not have the staff or expertise to assist at this time and instead have donated to the relief efforts of those with experience and expertise on the ground in Les Cayes and Jérémie.  There are many highly rated charities that operate in Haiti that you can contribute to. Two that are located in the hardest hit areas and have years of experience are –  The Haitian Health Foundation  and Hope for Haiti

Thank you for your support of the people of Haiti.
